Journalister har ett intressant förhållande till rättssamhället. Att begå ett brott behöver inte nödvändigtvis vara en dålig sak för en journalist. Ibland kan rätt brott bygga en hel karriär.
För ett tag sedan, när det blåste som mest om Sanna Bråding, så tyckte en person i min närhet synd om henne. Jag höll inte med, utan tyckte mig se en vändpunkt i hennes karriär. Och dagen efter hade Expressen en rubrik som var ungefär "Sanna blir rik på skandalen". Hittills har hon hanterat händelsen helt efter boken.
Jag är övertygad om att hennes brott på sikt kommer lyfta hennes karriär, och det kommer inte minst ge henne ett intressant förflutet.
Jag kan redan nu se dramaturgikurvan. Först går Sanna till angrepp mot rättsamhället (check), sedan sitter hon inne och bloggar direkt från hålan i klassisk socialreportagestil, sedan kommer hon ut och skriver en bekännelsebok där hon tar avstånd från sin gamla livsstil och kokainet och inom ett par år reser hon runt och håller välbetalda föreläsningar om sitt fd missbruk. 2012 håller hon ett hyllat Sommarprat.
Nu kanske Sanna inte är ett helt bra journalistiskt exempel, men det kunde egentligen gälla för de flesta journalister. Delvis beror det på att kokain ses som ett ganska ringa brott i medievärlden. Några av genrens stora mästerverk har ju skrivit under påverkan av och om droger, kanske mest inom gonzojournalistiken.
Och de flesta av oss vet ju att inte ens de största och mest respekterade dagstidningarna sparkar skribenter som stuckit ner näsan i pudret och åkt dit för det. Kanske allra mest romantiska har Filip och Fredrik varit i sitt ständiga drogflörtande, som numera ses som ganska folkligt - och knappast något som har skadat deras karriär.
De fick ju även Jan Guillou att komma ut.
För ett tag sedan skickade fd journalisten Carl M Sundevall ut ett beslut från polisen i Spy Bars VIP-utskick. Det var ett beslut att förundersökningen om narkotikabrott mot honom ej kunde styrkas. Självklart var det ironiskt menat.
